How long does setup take?
About 15 minutes. Fill in property details, set up call forwarding with your phone provider, and make a test call.

Do I need special equipment?
No. motel4 works through standard call forwarding — no hardware or adapters.

What information do I need?
Property name, address, check-in/out times, parking, Wi-Fi, pet policy, and other common guest questions. Add more anytime.

Can I test before going live?
Yes. Make a test call after setup, adjust property details, and test again until answers are correct.

What if I get stuck?
Email hello@motel4.ai. We typically respond within 2 hours during business hours.

What are the plans?
B&B $44/mo (under 12 rooms, 200 AI minutes). Motel $129/mo (24/7, 800 minutes, up to 3 numbers). Hotel $299/mo (multi-property, 2,500 minutes, up to 10 numbers). Custom pricing for larger operators. See Plans and pricing.

What if I go over included minutes?
Additional AI minutes are $0.18/min. Usage is visible in your dashboard.

Money-back guarantee?
Yes — 30 days, full refund if motel4 isn’t the right fit.

Contracts?
No. Month-to-month. Cancel anytime; access continues through the end of your billing cycle.

What counts as a property?
Each separate physical location with its own guest information. One 50-room hotel = 1 property. Five vacation rentals = 5 properties.

Extra charges for SMS or transcripts?
No. SMS follow-ups, transcripts, summaries, and the dashboard are included in all plans.

How does the AI know my property details?
You enter them in Dashboard → Property Settings. The AI answers only from this context — it does not invent information. See Property context.

What if the AI can’t answer?
It says it doesn’t have that information and offers to connect the caller or take a message. It never guesses.

How are calls escalated?
You set emergency and general escalation numbers plus triggers (emergencies, transfer requests, complaints). motel4 announces the transfer and connects within seconds.

Can callers tell it’s AI?
motel4 discloses it’s an AI assistant at the start of each call, as required. The conversation is conversational, not a phone menu.

What languages are supported?
English and Spanish are fully supported. French, German, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Dutch are also available with automatic language detection.

Can motel4 make reservations?
No. It captures booking intent (dates, preferences, contact info) for you to follow up. It does not connect to your PMS — this avoids overbookings and keeps you in control.

Can it share lockbox codes and Wi-Fi passwords?
Yes, when you configure that information in Property Settings. You control what is shared.

Are calls recorded?
motel4 generates transcripts; audio recordings are not stored by default. Call disclosure mentions the interaction may be logged.

Multiple team members?
Yes. Add team members with different access levels from your dashboard.

How do I update property information?
Dashboard → Property Settings. Changes apply on the next call.

How do I cancel?
Dashboard → Account → Subscription → Cancel plan. Access continues until the end of the billing cycle.

Can I switch plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade from the dashboard. Changes apply at the next billing cycle (upgrades can apply immediately).

Payment methods?
Major credit and debit cards via Stripe.

Annual billing?
Not currently — all plans are monthly.
