Call forwarding
Configure your phone provider to forward calls to your motel4 number. Forwarding is set with your carrier, not inside the motel4 dashboard.
Find your motel4 forwarding number in Dashboard → Phone Settings.

Forwarding types
Section titled “Forwarding types”| Type | When to use |

| Forward all | 24/7 AI coverage; every call goes to motel4 immediately |
| Forward on no-answer | Staff rings first; unanswered calls go to motel4 after ~4–5 rings |
| Forward on busy | Second simultaneous call forwards when your line is in use |
| After hours only | Configure in Business hours instead of (or in addition to) carrier settings |
You can combine no-answer and busy forwarding on most systems.
AT&T — mobile (cell)
Section titled “AT&T — mobile (cell)”Replace YOUR_MOTEL4_NUMBER with the digits from Dashboard → Phone Settings (include country code, e.g. 15551234567).
Forward on no-answer (recommended): Dial **61*YOUR_MOTEL4_NUMBER**11*20# then press Call. Forwards after ~20 seconds if you don’t answer.
Cancel conditional forward: Dial ##61# and press Call.
iPhone (forward all): Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding → enter your motel4 number. This sends every call to motel4 — use Business hours in motel4 if you only want coverage part-time.
AT&T — landline and business
Section titled “AT&T — landline and business”Forward all: Dial *72, then your motel4 number. Wait for confirmation. Cancel: *73.
Forward on no-answer: Dial *92, then your motel4 number. Cancel: *93.
Forward on busy: Dial *90, then your motel4 number. Cancel: *91.
Portal: att.com/business → Phone Features → Call Forwarding.
Verizon — mobile (cell)
Section titled “Verizon — mobile (cell)”Replace YOUR_MOTEL4_NUMBER with digits only (e.g. 15551234567).
Forward all: Dial *71YOUR_MOTEL4_NUMBER and press Call. Wait for two beeps.
Cancel: Dial *73 and press Call.
Forward on no-answer: Use the same **61*... pattern as AT&T if your line supports conditional forwarding, or use iPhone/Android settings → Call Forwarding → Forward when unanswered.
Verizon business
Section titled “Verizon business”Forward all: Dial *72 + motel4 number + #. Cancel: *73.
Portal: verizon.com/business → Manage Services → Call Forwarding.
For conditional forwarding on some lines, contact Verizon Business support at 1-800-922-0204.
T-Mobile (mobile)
Section titled “T-Mobile (mobile)”Replace YOUR_MOTEL4_NUMBER with your motel4 forwarding number (with country code).
Conditional forward (no answer): Dial **61*+YOUR_MOTEL4_NUMBER# and press Call.
Cancel: Dial ##61# and press Call.
Forward all (iPhone): Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding → enter motel4 number.
Forward when unanswered (Android): Phone app → Settings → Calls → Call Forwarding → Forward when unanswered.
VoIP (RingCentral, Vonage, Ooma, Grasshopper)
Section titled “VoIP (RingCentral, Vonage, Ooma, Grasshopper)”Use your admin portal:
- RingCentral: Admin Portal → Phone System → Call Handling & Forwarding → add motel4 number (recommend 4 rings before forward).
- Vonage: Admin Dashboard → Extensions → Call Forwarding → external number.
- Ooma Office: Settings → Extensions → Call Handling → forward after N rings.
- Grasshopper: Settings → Extensions → Forwarding → add motel4 number.
Cable landline (Spectrum, Comcast, Cox)
Section titled “Cable landline (Spectrum, Comcast, Cox)”Spectrum Business: business.spectrum.com → Voice → Call Forwarding → external number. Or dial *72 + motel4 number (landline). Cancel: *73.
Comcast Business: business.comcast.com → Voice → Call Forwarding. Support: 1-800-391-3000.
Cox Business: Cox Business portal → Phone → Call Forwarding, or contact business support.
Use forward on no-answer if you want staff to answer during the day.
Google Voice
Section titled “Google Voice”- Open voice.google.com → Settings → Calls.
- Under Call forwarding, add your motel4 number.
- Enable Forward calls to linked numbers and select motel4 for after-hours or all calls.
Note: Google Voice is best for small properties using a Voice number as their published line. If your main line is a landline or PBX, use carrier forwarding instead.
Other landline provider
Section titled “Other landline provider”If your carrier is not listed:
- Call your provider’s business support line.
- Ask for no-answer call forwarding to an external number.
- Give them your motel4 number from Dashboard → Phone Settings.
- Ask for a 20-second ring timeout before forward (about 4–5 rings).
To remove forwarding later, call the same support line and ask them to disable call forwarding on your line.
Other VoIP provider
Section titled “Other VoIP provider”- Log into your VoIP admin panel.
- Look for Call Routing, Failover, or Call Forwarding.
- Set no-answer forwarding to your motel4 number.
- Save and test from a cell phone.
Hotel PBX (Mitel, Avaya, Cisco)
Section titled “Hotel PBX (Mitel, Avaya, Cisco)”Configure forwarding on the main incoming trunk, not individual room extensions. Share this with your IT vendor:
- Rule: Call-forward-no-answer (CFNA) on the main hunt group or front-desk line
- Destination: Your motel4 number (E.164 format from Phone Settings)
- Ring timeout: ~20 seconds before forward

Remove forwarding before changing phone providers or your published property number.
